2. Goals and Objectives:

2.1. Goals of Training Program:

          The program is aimed at developing high-quality human resources with a strong interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary foundation in global issues. Students are equipped with systems thinking and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to innovate and apply technology in analyzing and addressing sustainable development challenges within the context of contemporary international relations. Additionally, students are nurtured in ethical principles, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively in international settings, contributing to the sustainable development of both Vietnam and the global community.

2.2. Specific Objectives:
  • Knowledge: equipping students with interdisciplinary knowledge and advanced technology to analyze and address global issues in the context of modern international relations; developing the capacity to create innovative solutions and sustainable entrepreneurship strategies to promote comprehensive development in a globalized environment; while also providing foundational and in-depth knowledge of language and intercultural communication to adapt flexibly and work effectively in diverse international settings.
  • Skills: developing students’ competencies in conducting research within the framework of modern social sciences, particularly in data analysis and the evaluation of global development issues. It cultivates interdisciplinary and critical thinking, as well as the adaptability required to navigate complex, multicultural, and dynamic contexts. Additionally, students will be equipped with essential leadership and innovation skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in varied international settings.
  • Autonomy and responsibility: fostering a strong sense of professional ethics and a deep respect for cultural diversity and heritage in addressing global development challenges. It also nurtures social responsibility and transparency in the design and implementation of sustainable development initiatives, empowering students to contribute meaningfully to improving quality of life in a globalized world.

     

3. Employment Opportunities:

  • Group 1: Public officers/government employees/staff
    • Public officers, government employees, or staff working at Vietnamese state agencies or public service units who are involved in policy-making processes and the development of programs related to development and innovation.
  • Group 2: Managers/coordinators/experts/staff
    • Working in development agencies, international organizations, embassies, and international NGOs such as UNDP, UNESCO, JICA, World Bank, ADB, Plan International, Oxfam, etc.; as well as in international corporations, social enterprises, and professional organizations, etc…

  • Graduates possess the ability to engage in self-directed learning and independent research to address challenges encountered in professional settings across governmental agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
  • They are equipped to explore and critically analyze both theoretical and practical issues related to global innovation and development.
  • Graduates are academically prepared to pursue postgraduate studies (Master’s and Doctoral levels) in fields related to global development and innovation at institutions within Vietnam, the region, and internationally.


4. Key Features of the GDI Program
:

4.1. Liberal Education
  • Aims to nurture responsible global citizens through the holistic development of intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and physical dimensions, guided by the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Respects academic freedom and offers a wide range of elective courses, enabling students to pursue their passions and align their studies with career aspirations.
  • Promotes independent and critical thinking through multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to solving global development challenges.
  • Fosters a spirit of innovation and creativity, encouraging exploration and the generation of solutions to address global issues.

4.2. Sustainability

Educates socially responsible citizens who uphold the values of equity, demonstrate environmental consciousness, appreciate cultural diversity, and possess the capacity for innovation to adapt flexibly to the changing demands of the era.

4.3. Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Approach

Builds broad-based, inter-disciplinary knowledge while fostering systems thinking, creativity, analytical skills, and collaboration. Students are equipped to flexibly apply this knowledge in addressing complex global issues.

4.4. Internationalization
  • Collaborates with world-leading universities such as the University of Berlin (Germany) and Waseda University (Japan) through field research programs, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural exchanges.

  • Provides international study opportunities in Japan, Germany, and other countries, enabling students to engage with regional policies, technological innovations, and global economic strategies.

  • Develops multilingual capabilities in an international environment, with English as the primary language of instruction and opportunities to learn Japanese, Vietnamese, and other languages, enhancing students’ advantages in global business, diplomacy, and research.

4.5. Practical Learning & Global Career Opportunities:
  • Practical Learning & Entrepreneurship: Provides entrepreneurial projects that integrate advanced technologies such as AI, Blockchain, and smart management, along with internship opportunities at multinational corporations.
  • Global Career Development: Develops communication and professional skills for working in multicultural environments, equipping students with employability skills in fields such as technology, sustainable development, diplomacy, and international business.
  • Expanding International Employment Networks: Facilitates connections with international companies and organizations, creating job opportunities in multilateral institutions, diplomatic agencies, and major global corporations.

5.2. Learning pathway:

In the first two years of the program, students will focus on developing their foreign language skills (especially English), information technology skills, social research methodologies, and essential 21st-century competencies. Additionally, students will be equipped with foundational knowledge in the fields of social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and basic technology, establishing a solid foundation for addressing global innovation and development issues in the subsequent two years.

In the final two years, students will deepen their knowledge and expertise in international studies, global innovation and development issues within the context of modern international relations. They will also choose one of two specialized tracks: Economic Management and Innovation, or Global Development Studies.

Alongside the acquisition of foundational and specialized knowledge, students will take specialized courses in English related to global development, sustainable development, and innovation, with guidance given by sage international experts from Australia, Japan, Germany, and other countries. Moreover, students will study Japanese throughout the four years with native-speaking instructors. Notably, students will have the opportunity to enhance their foreign language and intercultural communication skills through exchange programs, field research, and collaborative projects with international students from Japan, Germany, and various other European countries.

7. Admission

  • 2025 admision Target: 100 students

Admission Methods:

  • Admission by candidate’s profile (review of study records and interview);
  • Admission based on the results of the National High School Graduation Exam;
  • Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam for high school students organized by VNU;
  • Admission by other methods:
    • Admission by international foreign language certificates (English), combined with 02 subjects of high school graduation exam in 2025;
    • Admission based on standardized test results (SAT, ACT, A-Level certificates);
    • Direct admission and priority admission based on the university’s specific admission scheme.


8. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):

8.1. Knowledge

PLO 01: Apply foundational knowledge of political theory, law, interdisciplinary sciences, international and regional studies, development studies, and innovation to analyze and address global cultural, economic, political, and social issues in the context of modern international relations.

PLO 02: Analyze interdisciplinary data and information on sustainable development in the global context to propose appropriate solutions that promote sustainable development in Vietnam and other countries worldwide

PLO 03: Apply knowledge of language specificities in the context of modern international relations to communicate effectively and address professional issues.

8.2. Skills
  • Specialized skills:

PLO 04: Apply effectively information technology (AI, Big data, SPSS, etc.) to develop innovative solutions and build sustainable startup strategies.

PLO 05: Apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect, analyze, and interpret data for assessing global development issues in the context of modern international relations.

PLO 06: Demonstrate interdisciplinary thinking to analyze development trends and propose effective solutions in practice.

  •  Supplementary skills:

PLO 07: Demonstrate proficiency in English at the level of 4/6 (equivalent to B2 level according to the Vietnamese Foreign Language Proficiency Framework) as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Hanoi National University, in order to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.

PLO 08: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office to effectively support learning, research, and professional work.

PLO 09: Demonstrate critical thinking, flexible adaptability, time management, self-directed learning, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in teams.

8.3. Autonomy and Responsibility

PLO 10: Demonstrate social responsibility, transparency, and accountability to the community in addressing sustainable development issues.

PLO 11: Formulate effective work plans and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

PLO 12: Demonstrate leadership and innovation capabilities in multicultural environments.

8.4. Ethical Qualities

PLO 13: Demonstrate adherence to professional ethics; respect cultural diversity and preserve cultural values when addressing economic, political, legal, cultural, and social issues to promote sustainable development and enhance global quality of life.

 

5.2. Lộ trình học tập:

Trong hai năm đầu của chương trình đào tạo, sinh viên sẽ tập trung phát triển năng lực ngoại ngữ (đặc biệt là tiếng Anh), kỹ năng công nghệ thông tin, phương pháp nghiên cứu xã hội và các kỹ năng bổ trợ thiết yếu của thế kỷ XXI. Bên cạnh đó, sinh viên sẽ được trang bị kiến thức nền tảng trong các lĩnh vực khoa học xã hội và nhân văn, khoa học tự nhiên và công nghệ cơ bản, từ đó xây dựng nền tảng vững chắc để tiếp cận toàn diện các vấn đề đổi mới và phát triển toàn cầu trong hai năm học tiếp theo.

Trong hai năm cuối, sinh viên sẽ được đào sâu kiến thức chuyên ngành về quốc tế học, các vấn đề đổi mới và phát triển toàn cầu trong bối cảnh quan hệ quốc tế hiện đại, đồng thời lựa chọn một trong hai định hướng chuyên sâu: Quản lý kinh tế và đổi mới sáng tạo, hoặc Nghiên cứu phát triển toàn cầu.

Song song với quá trình tiếp thu kiến thức nền tảng và chuyên ngành, sinh viên sẽ được học tiếng Anh chuyên ngành về phát triển toàn cầu, phát triển bền vững và đổi mới sáng tạo với sự hướng dẫn của các chuyên gia đến từ Úc, Nhật Bản, Đức và các quốc gia khác. Ngoài ra, sinh viên được học tiếng Nhật xuyên suốt 4 năm với giảng viên bản ngữ. Đặc biệt, sinh viên có cơ hội nâng cao năng lực ngoại ngữ và giao tiếp liên văn hóa thông qua các chương trình trao đổi, nghiên cứu thực địa cùng sinh viên quốc tế đến từ Nhật Bản, Đức và nhiều quốc gia châu Âu khác.

Chỉ tiêu tuyển sinh năm 2025: 100 sinh viên

Phương thức tuyển sinh:

  • Xét hồ sơ năng lực và phỏng vấn
  • Xét tuyển dựa trên kết quả thi THPT
  • Xét tuyển dựa trên kết quả thi đánh giá năng lực học sinh THPT của ĐHQGHN năm tuyển sinh
  • Xét tuyển theo phương thức khác:
    • Xét chứng chỉ ngoại ngữ quốc tế (tiếng Anh, tiếng Nhật) kết hợp kết quả thi THPT 2025
    • Xét tuyển kết quả trong kỳ thi chuẩn hóa SAT, ACT, chứng chỉ A-Level
    • Xét tuyển thẳng và ưu tiên xét tuyển theo đề án của Trường đại học Việt Nhật.


VIII. Chuẩn đầu ra:

8.1. Về kiến thức

CĐR 1: Vận dụng kiến thức nền tảng về lý luận chính trị, pháp luật, khoa học liên ngành, nghiên cứu quốc tế và khu vực, nghiên cứu phát triển và đổi mới sáng tạo để phân tích và giải quyết một vấn đề về văn hóa, kinh tế, chính trị và xã hội toàn cầu trong bối cảnh quan hệ quốc tế hiện đại.

CĐR 2: Phân tích dữ liệu, thông tin liên ngành về phát triển bền vững trong bối cảnh toàn cầu nhằm đề xuất các giải pháp phù hợp để thúc đẩy phát triển bền vững tại Việt Nam và trên thế giới.

CĐR 3: Áp dụng kiến thức về đặc thù ngôn ngữ trong bối cảnh quan hệ quốc tế hiện đại để giao tiếp hiệu quả và vận dụng vào việc giải quyết một vấn đề chuyên môn một cách phù hợp.

8.2. Về kỹ năng

  • Kỹ năng chuyên môn

CĐR 4: Ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin (bao gồm trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI), dữ liệu lớn, và các công cụ phân tích như SPSS…)  để phát triển các giải pháp đổi mới và xây dựng chiến lược khởi nghiệp bền vững.

CĐR 5: Vận dụng các phương pháp nghiên cứu định lượng và định tính phù hợp để thu thập, phân tích và diễn giải dữ liệu nhằm đánh giá các vấn đề phát triển toàn cầu trong bối cảnh quan hệ quốc tế hiện đại.

CĐR 6: Thể hiện tư duy liên ngành để phân tích các xu hướng phát triển và đề xuất các giải pháp hiệu quả phù hợp với thực tiễn.

  • Kỹ năng bổ trợ

CĐR 7: Đạt trình độ tiếng Anh bậc 4/6 (tương đương trình độ B2 theo Khung năng lực ngoại ngữ của Việt Nam) theo quy định của Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo và Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội, nhằm giao tiếp hiệu quả trong môi trường đa văn hoá.

CĐR 8: Sử dụng thành thạo tin học văn phòng để phục vụ hiệu quả cho học tập, nghiên cứu và công việc chuyên môn.

CĐR 9: Thể hiện tư duy phản biện, khả năng thích ứng linh hoạt, quản lý thời gian hiệu quả, tự học một cách chủ động và làm việc độc lập cũng như hợp tác nhóm một cách hiệu quả.

8.3. Về mức độ tự chủ và trách nhiệm

CĐR 10: Thể hiện trách nhiệm xã hội, tính minh bạch và năng lực giải trình với cộng đồng trong quá trình giải quyết các vấn đề phát triển bền vững.

CĐR 11: Thiết lập được kế hoạch công việc một cách hợp lý và hoàn thành nhiệm vụ đúng thời hạn.

CĐR 12: Thể hiện năng lực lãnh đạo và thúc đẩy đổi mới sáng tạo trong môi trường đa văn hóa.

8.4. Về phẩm chất đạo đức

CĐR 13: Thể hiện sự tuân thủ đạo đức nghề nghiệp; tôn trọng đa dạng văn hóa và góp phần bảo tồn các giá trị văn hóa trong giải quyết một vấn đề kinh tế, chính trị, pháp luật, văn hóa và xã hội, nhằm thúc đẩy phát triển bền vững và nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống toàn cầu.
