- Step 1: Online application registration
Applicants access the online postgraduate admission portal at: http://tssdh.vnu.edu.vn and follow the instructions. Applicants must commit to and take responsibility for the accuracy of all declared information. - Step 2: Submission of scanned documents via email
- Send scanned application documents (in .pdf or .doc format) to: admission@vju.ac.vn
- The Admissions Office will review eligibility and may request applicants to supplement or revise documents if necessary.
- Step 3: Submission of hard-copy documents
Applicants prepare one complete set of hard-copy documents and submit them to the Admissions Office, Room 510, 5th Floor, My Dinh Campus, Luu Huu Phuoc Street, Tu Liem Ward, Hanoi.- Submission time: during office hours.
- Documents may also be sent via EMS postal service (based on postmark date).

3.3. Application Fee
- Direct admission: 200,000 VND/application
- Admission via selection: 500,000 VND/round/application
- Applicants must pay the application fee immediately after successfully submitting their application.
- The application fee is non-refundable and does not include costs for supplementary coursework, travel, meals, accommodation, or other expenses during the interview process.
3.4 Supplementary Coursework Fee
- Applicants required to complete supplementary coursework will be informed of the study plan and the number of required credits before the admission assessment takes place (list of maximum required courses is provided in Appendix 6).
- Tuition for supplementary courses is based on the number of credits required by the program. The credit fee is calculated according to the undergraduate credit tuition rate of the University.
- In case applicants fail to complete the required supplementary coursework, fees will not be refunded, and the applicant will not be eligible for admission.
3.5 Payment Method

II. ADMISSION ORGANIZATION
1. Admission principles
- Candidates are evaluated strictly according to eligibility requirements stated in Article 2, Section I of this announcement. Selection is conducted in descending order of scores until quotas are filled. If quotas are not fully met under one admission method, they may be transferred to the other method.
- After the application deadline, the Admissions Council evaluates direct admission applicants and announces results at least one week before the official admission assessment. Candidates who do not qualify for direct admission may still apply for the selection round.
2. Admission process (application assessment and interview)
2.1 Admission procedure

- Step 5: Issuance of admission notices for successful candidates
2.2 Evaluation criteria and admission results
Candidates are assessed based on:
- Academic performance at undergraduate level (degree classification and transcript)
- Foreign language proficiency (certificates, essays, interviews)
- Critical thinking ability and study motivation
- Research achievements
- Research proposal (for Business Administration and Environmental Engineering applicants)
- Each program has its own specific scoring rubric based on the above criteria.
- Final admission results are calculated on a 100-point scale combining dossier evaluation and interview results.
- Minimum passing threshold: 60/100 points.
- The Admissions Council makes the final decision on admission results and cutoff scores based on recommendations from the specialized committee.
2.3 Interview process
- Eligible candidates will be informed of the interview schedule by the Admissions Council.
- Application fee is non-refundable. It may be carried over to the next round only if the candidate submits a valid request and receives approval from the Admissions Secretariat at least 2 days before the interview date.
- Interviews are conducted in person at My Dinh Campus, Vietnam Japan University, Luu Huu Phuoc Street, Hanoi.
- Online interviews are only allowed for candidates residing at least 300 km away from the campus, upon prior approval and submission of a request at least 2 days before the interview date.
- Interview language: primarily English.
- Area Studies (Japanese Studies): mainly Japanese
- Area Studies (Vietnamese Studies for foreign applicants): mainly Vietnamese
2.4 Re-evaluation (appeals)
The decision of the Admissions Council is final. The university does not accept appeals or re-evaluation requests.
III. TUITION FEES
- Vietnamese students: 92,000,000 VND / 2 years
- International students: 110,000,000 VND / 2 years
IV. BENEFITS AND POLICIES
1. General benefits

2. Special benefits for VJU graduates continuing to Master’s programs
- All VJU graduates receive a 10% tuition fee reduction in the first year and are eligible for general university scholarships if they meet criteria.
- Additional tuition support:
- Graduates with Excellent (Xuất sắc) performance and meeting admission requirements: up to 100% tuition support in the first year
- Graduates with Good (Giỏi) performance and meeting requirements: at least 50% tuition support in the first year
- Students receiving tuition support must commit to participating in teaching assistant and research activities throughout their study period.
